How PuzzleSecretary handles your data and the terms of using the service.

What We Collect

PuzzleSecretary stores the minimum data needed to provide the service:

  • Messaging identifier: Whatever identifier your messaging platform sends us (this may be a phone number, a UUID, or another platform-specific ID). We use it solely to associate your messages with your account. We don’t choose what the platform sends, and we don’t use these identifiers for any other purpose.
  • Game results: The game type, puzzle identifier, and score or time data you send us. Stored permanently — this is the point of the service.
  • Raw message text: The full text of messages you send. Retained for up to 120 days for debugging, then deleted automatically.
  • Display name: A name you choose if you join a group leaderboard. Visible only to other members of that group.
  • Feedback messages: Text you send via the /feedback command, along with your messaging identifier. Retained for up to 120 days, then deleted.

What We Don’t Collect

  • No names, email addresses, or passwords
  • No login system — authentication happens through your messaging app
  • No cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts on this website
  • No advertising or ad networks
  • No AI, machine learning, or generative AI processing

Data Retention

  • Game results: Kept indefinitely
  • Raw messages: Deleted within 120 days of receipt
  • Feedback: Deleted within 120 days
  • Temporary tokens (link codes, group action tokens): Expire within 25 hours

Third Parties

We do not share your data with anyone. No analytics services, no ad networks, no third-party SDKs. The messaging platform you use (Signal, WhatsApp, etc.) has its own privacy policy — we have no control over what it retains on its side.

Compliance with GDPR and CCPA

The data controller is Electric Pliers, LLC. We collect minimal data, perform no profiling, and never sell data.

You have the right to request access to or deletion of your data. Contact us at info@electricpliers.com and we will process your request promptly. An automated account deletion command is planned for a future release.

Terms of Use

  • This service is provided “AS IS” without warranty of any kind.
  • We may suspend accounts that misuse the service.
  • We are not affiliated with any game publisher (NYT, etc.). We parse publicly shared game results.
  • We may change or discontinue the service. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Missouri.

We may update this page from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
